"Doomsday May Not Be What You Think" Actually, it's worse...

on jw.org they have an awake article posted entitled, doomsday - fact, fiction and fantasy.. they go on to list a few doomsday fears that some people have, namely: supervolcanoes, asteroids, climate change, disease pandemic, extinction of critical species and of course, nuclear war.. each of the preceding fears was given a paragraph or two explaining the impact of such scenerios and the devastation it could bring.. now that they've got us all worried about our bees fleeing our bee hives as the asteroid makes impact on a supervolcano, causing an eruption which warms the earth's climate thus giving rise to deadly diseases...all the while some nut in a third world country has developed a nuclear weapon.... ...they seek to reassure you: doomsday may not be what you think.

oh, well... that's good.

i was starting to worry there for a minute.... what reassurance could these prophets of god give me?.

when i first posted here, i was a sophomore in high school....it's hilarious to look back at my 2002 posts and see how much i've changed and grown!

If he can see into a persons future for example, and finds a problem, let's sayyyyy.......something has to be done about Marty's kids. Now, before Marty reads a WT publication (in three months) that would've had something "tailored just for him" he'll eat at a Chinese restaurant or pick up one of those Magic 8 Balls off a co-workers desk. The line must be drawn here...so what does god do? Send the message via things that the borg link to spiritism but would be in time for a decision to be made influenced by the message that would help Marty's kids or wait til it gets heavy when nothing can be done but console Marty after the fact while he's sitting in a chair playing guitar............badly?

I have question about the new light on the statues toes

my son went to the dc this past weekend and we visited on the phone for a bit about what he picked up there.

he of course was sad and worried for us because we no longer have anything to do with the org.

we covered alot of issues that had to do with why i felt that the org did not have gods holy spirit.

JWs perspective is bats--t insane. Anything that has to do with "gods will" is told to us by people with their own agendas. Namely getting rich or as the Oracle said "more power".

The only ones who aren't seems to be us humans, as we are limited to time. So we, in denial about god's inaction, MAKE UP that he's doing something in order to make ourselves feel better. That's why inspirational music is so inspirational. It talks in future tense. He will, he is, he'll never. Meanwhile we don't have any irrefutable proof. Any thoughts? Just something I thought about while reading another post on here talking a sec about the first Matrix movie.

tonight i was invited out by some jw friends.

i dont mind hanging out every now and then with them at all as long as they dont start bugging me about why im no longer going to meetings or on the the ministry.

anyway... guess what one of them started to do???.

Men will be lovers of themselves rather than lovers of god. I'm considering, the next time a dub starts in with me as to why this or that, just not saying anything and look at them like we've been through this before. Maybe if the room is quiet instead of me rebuttaling their asinine statement, they'll actually pause and say, "did I really say something that dumb?" Couldn't hurt right?

If on my journey I should encounter god, then god will be cut.

Humans can reproduce, we're supposed to. god doesn't have his finger on the button saying who's born and who isn't. But yeah, too bad he let ME in huh? And your reason for saying this is what? and he gets in the way, or at least he has. He watched satan watching Adam and Eve and him being able to read hearts KNEW jealousy was building within him, did he do anything? Nope. Inaction is an action within itself. He puts a tree down on Earth and says "don't eat". The tree being perfect I have to ask if that tree was any more perfect than any other perfect tree in looks? I mean for Eve to look at it and see "that it was desirable to look upon" it would have to look more special than the other trees, or else she'd be looking at your average run-of-the-mill perfect tree. If the tree absolutely had to be there why didn't god put it in some obscure, bothersome to get to area? Like growing out of the side of a cliff for example. If that wasn't possible then, if it were me, I would've made the tree bear fruit that looked, from a human standpoint, ugly. It would have been a perfectly flawed tree one that A&E would look at and go "Shi- I ain't eatin' that" and that way they would've, or at least stand a better chance in "obeying" jerkovah.

He causes she-bears to attack a group of people because they stated the obvious that a prophet was bald and he was going up on the mountain. Yes it may have been teasing the prophet but he was in fact bald and was going up on a mountain.

Even now, the hiding of the date of Armeggedon, what for? What could possibly happen if we knew the date? Yes some people would go and do what they wanted til the time came but god supposedly can read hearts. Wouldn't he be able to weed through the ones who did it just to be saved from the ones who did it because they came around truthfully to righteousness? Any thoughts?

Exactly Cameo. They put their own targets on their backs for all this "persecution". How much better would my life in school been had I just been there with no ties to this cult? None of this "you can't cuss, you aren't allowed to fight, you can't do holidays" from peers and teachers who tried to let me in on some freekin' fun by creating loopholes. I may not be sure of many things but one thing I am sure of is: god needs to get punched in the throat.
